We are now looking for a senior accounting consultant for a public organization based in Stockholm.

The assignment involves supporting the accounting function within the organization's central finance department. The unit is responsible for governance, finance, as well as procurement and purchasing issues and is currently in a development phase where efficiency, digitization, and system changes are in focus. To ensure continued stability and contribute to this development, an experienced accounting consultant is sought for a fixed-term assignment.

The consultant is expected to work independently but in close dialogue with the internal accounting group. The assignment includes qualified support in complex accounting issues as well as active participation in improvement and development work.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide support in advanced accounting issues and be a driving force in development initiatives related to financial processes. • Work in a structured and independent manner with continuous feedback to the organization's contact persons. • Participate in regular monthly reconciliations regarding delivery, challenges, and any adjustments. • Contribute to innovation in accounting, particularly regarding methods and use of systems. • Document all work materials digitally and ensure they are stored in shared spaces. • Work proactively with knowledge transfer to internal employees throughout the assignment.

Desired Profile

• Solid experience in qualified accounting, preferably within the public or non-profit sector. • Ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with a team. • Familiarity with documenting work clearly and working in digital environments. • Structured and communicative with a natural drive to share knowledge.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Education: Academic degree in economics or equivalent relevant higher education. • Experience: At least 10 years of documented experience in qualified accounting work in larger organizations (over 500 employees). • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of the entire accounting process, including: o VAT in the non-profit sector with mixed deductibility o Tax issues o Representation and pension management o Annual and consolidated financial statements o Cash flow analyses o Accounting for both non-profit and commercial and municipal operations

Meritorious

• System proficiency: Good computer skills and experience with tools such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Financial systems: Experience working in financial and business systems. • Background: Audit background is an advantage. • Industry experience: Experience from labor-intensive service operations is seen as a plus. • Leadership: Previous managerial responsibility and coaching work style is advantageous. • System knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus. Start Date and Application:

Start: As soon as possible End date: 2025-10-31 Scope: Initially 50%, with the possibility to increase up to 100% depending on needs. Duration: Initial period of 6 months, with a summer break of at least 4 weeks. Thereafter, the possibility of monthly extensions up to a total of 12 months.
