Are you a senior software developer with solid and current experience in Java and looking for an exciting and socially important challenge where you can make Sweden safer? Our operations are responsible for national connections and components to central EU systems as well as several information exchange systems that are essential hubs in the international fight against serious crime.
The IT department's primary task is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority. The IT department develops and modernizes the police's IT, and the authority invests heavily in strengthening the department with new specialist skills and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in the police operations.
The Intelligence, Border, and International Systems have overall responsibility for the development and lifecycle management of system support for the police's intelligence service, entry and border control, alerts, border surveillance, and passenger flows, as well as international cooperation. The Intelligence, Border, and International Systems are also responsible for international coordination within IT and for systems for language and text analysis.
Job Description
As a senior software developer, we expect you to be ready to take on the role of a leader within the team when needed, where your expertise can strengthen the competence and serve as a technical role model. When necessary, you delegate tasks and support your colleagues to ensure that the team achieves common goals.
Our teams are responsible for the entire product lifecycle. A workday can involve everything from developing new applications, maintaining complex systems, or solving critical security issues. You work closely with end-users in the police operations and other groups within IT to translate knowledge into technical solutions that support the police in their mission. Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Many years of relevant work experience in software development in Java as assessed by the employer
- Relevant post-secondary education in IT, preferably with a degree, or equivalent experience that the Police Authority can assess as equivalent.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Swedish citizenship is required for this position.
It is meritorious if you have relevant experience with the following technologies and tools:
- gRPC framework
- Backend frameworks such as JBoss, SpringBoot
- Integrations via API
- Docker and Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
- Integrations with MySQL or equivalent database management systems
- IT infrastructure, firewalls, Linux, networks.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
