About the position

BIR is now looking for an experienced mechanic to join our professional team at Espehaugen 52. We are an authorized workshop (category 3) focusing on heavy vehicles over 7,500 kg. Here, you will work with waste collection vehicles and advanced equipment from leading suppliers such as JOAB, Geesinknorba, NTM, Faun, Multilift, and Zepro.

As part of the green shift, we also collaborate with chassis manufacturers such as Volvo, Scania, Mercedes, Iveco, and MAN. In addition, we offer workshop services to all types of transporters – including hook trucks, vans, dumpers, flatbed trucks, and sightseeing buses.

You will be part of a close-knit team of 15 skilled colleagues who together possess broad expertise in both chassis and superstructure.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform service, maintenance, and repairs of heavy vehicles as well as superstructures and hydraulic systems

  • Troubleshooting and repair of electronic emptying registration systems

  • Conduct EU inspections and periodic checks according to applicable regulations

We are looking for someone who has

  • Vocational training or certification as a mechanic for heavy vehicles

  • Certification as an industrial mechanic, construction mechanic, or equivalent

  • B driver's license (C driver's license is an advantage)

  • Forklift license and certificate for overhead crane (desirable, but not required)

  • Experience with braking systems, shock absorption, steering, electronics, and preferably hydraulics

  • Experience conducting EU/periodic inspections

  • Good IT skills

  • Fluent in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written
