About Ekedals School and the School Kitchen
Ekedals School is a prestigious F–5 school with about 450 students, beautifully located in Gustavsberg. The school has recently undergone a comprehensive renovation, and the kitchen is a modern production kitchen with good development opportunities. In the dining hall, both lunch and snacks are served daily to students and staff.
Your Role as a Chef
As a chef at Ekedals School, you will be part of an engaged kitchen team and work together with the kitchen manager and meal assistants to ensure that the food served meets high quality standards according to the Swedish Food Agency's guidelines "Good Food in Schools".
Your main tasks include:
- Preparing and serving nutritious food, including special diets for allergy sufferers and vegetarian options.
- Being responsible for self-control in the kitchen and following hygiene and safety routines.
- Ordering raw materials and ensuring cost-effective management of food.
- Using digital systems for documentation and orders – therefore, some IT skills are important.
- Collaborating with other staff to create a pleasant and efficient working environment.
We are looking for someone who
- Is a trained chef, preferably with experience working in school kitchens or large-scale catering.
- Has good knowledge of preparing nutritious food and special diets, including allergy and diet food.
- Is well-versed in food hygiene and has experience working with self-control.
- Has economic awareness regarding food management and purchasing.
- Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as some IT skills.
- Is a positive and flexible team player with good collaboration skills and a sense of service.
Terms and Benefits
- Scope: 80 %
- Employment type: Permanent position, probationary employment may be applied.
- Start date: By agreement.
