Within the area of Communication and Development, we work with research dissemination, communication, analysis and evaluation, environmental monitoring, digitalization, and innovation. We compile and disseminate research and knowledge relevant to the special education field. Our mandate also includes monitoring trends in the external environment and driving the agency's international collaborations. This is where conditions are created for the agency to become an innovative and leading knowledge actor.

Do you want to lead a competent team while also contributing operationally to developing and streamlining the governance of a government organization? We are looking for an engaged and strategic manager for the management support unit, who combines leadership with specialist knowledge and the drive to develop working methods and processes.

About the Role

As the head of management support, you have overall responsibility for the Communication and Development area’s management support unit and its functions. You have operational, budget, personnel, and work environment responsibility for your employees in the unit. You lead a cross-functional team that supports the management of the area in matters such as administrative support, operational governance, finance, HR, communication, and process management. You are part of a team together with three other management support managers and work closely with the area manager and the area’s management group. We are now starting up four new management support units where you will have the opportunity to build a completely new unit in collaboration with the other management support managers. The role is both strategic and operational. In addition to leading and developing the management support unit, you will also work on tasks related to enhancing the agency's ability to govern and follow up on operations effectively and purposefully. You ensure that the unit's employees work cross-functionally and follow the routines, processes, and working methods decided by the agency. You also collaborate with other managers within the organization to ensure consistency and coordination. The position is not static but will change according to the needs of the operations. You will play a key role in contributing to the agency's ongoing transformation journey in building working methods and culture to succeed with our important societal missions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The role is part of the area’s management group.
  • Lead, develop, and coordinate the unit's work and employees.
  • Be responsible for leading and developing work on governance and follow-up within the area.
  • Work operationally with issues related to the development of processes, routines, and working methods for effective governance.
  • Ensure compliance with the agency's guidelines, policies, and decision-making processes within the area.
  • Participate in development projects related to governance, follow-up, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other management support, the agency's management group, central support functions, and other areas to create consistency and synergy effects.
  • Follow up and report the area's compliance with routines and guidelines to management.
  • You have operational, budget, personnel, and work environment responsibility for your employees in the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant academic education, for example, in public administration, economics, leadership, or another equivalent field.
  • Documented managerial experience in leading and developing professional functions at a strategic level, for example, in the role of finance manager, administrative manager, or equivalent.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Experience working with operational governance, follow-up, and process development.
  • Documented experience of overall responsibility for comprehensive work with financial governance, operational development, operational governance, and follow-up within a government organization or other public sector.
  • Experience in developing and implementing working methods, routines, and processes at a strategic level.
  • The ability to express yourself well in spoken or sign language in Swedish and in writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in operations with assignments in research, development, and communication.
