Unit Manager for Construction and Operations

About the position
The Park and Street unit is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Örebro's public spaces, such as streets, squares, and parks. The Construction and Operations unit is the executing unit of Park and Street and works in the areas of Street Operations, Park Operations, Construction and Transport, as well as Administration and Property. As the unit manager for Construction and Operations, you will lead the work with the support of four group managers and an administrative coordinator. You will be part of the management team of Park and Street, where you, together with the operations manager and other unit managers, contribute to the development of the operation and ensure that we meet both current and future challenges to meet the needs of citizens.
As a unit manager with us, you have personnel, economic, and operational responsibility for your unit, which means that you drive, develop, and follow up on the operation against set goals, as well as lead, support, and develop the skills of your employees. You work from a holistic perspective and make independent decisions within your area of responsibility. In this position, you will meet external parties such as the media, citizens, external partners, and politicians. Therefore, we see that you should have an outgoing personality and feel comfortable representing the operation.

Examples of tasks:
- operational, economic, and personnel responsibility
- lead and develop the work of Construction and Operations
- create conditions for employees to perform work with the desired quality for the citizens the operation is intended for
- create a good working environment and contribute to being an attractive workplace
- convey knowledge and engagement regarding the responsibilities of Construction and Operations both within and outside the own administration
- collaborate with trade unions and other internal and external parties
- continuously monitor the external environment
- ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in the role of Unit Manager for Construction and Operations, we see that you are a secure person with good self-awareness who easily builds relationships and collaborates with others. Requirements:
- academic degree of at least 180 credits in the field of sustainable community building or another relevant focus for the position
- several years of experience in the management and development of public environments
- documented experience of operational, economic, and personnel responsibility
- experience in operational development
- experience in coaching leadership
- driver's license B
Meritorious:
- knowledge of LOU
- knowledge of BAS-P/BAS-U
- experience as a manager of managers
