About the Organization

Skogshöjden 4-9 in the Western School Area in Trollhättan is looking for a special educator/special teacher to join our student health team.

Approximately 280 students attend the school, distributed across grades 4-9. At the school, we work in teams where three teachers are jointly responsible for a grade. We are now looking for an engaged employee for Skogshöjden's students. You will be part of our student health team and a vital piece together with a special educator, counselor, school psychologist, school nurse, and principal. We work with FEA, a systematic preventive student health effort that starts in the classroom.

Job Responsibilities

You are expected to drive and develop the school's preventive student health work (FEA) and the work with knowledge follow-ups, extra adaptations, and special support. You are the spider in the web in the work of supporting students, and together with other student health personnel, you will support and guide teachers to ensure that processes happen as close to the student as possible. You contribute the special educational perspective in meetings and in the student health work. Together with the principal, you are responsible for allocating resources based on students' needs and what emerges in knowledge follow-ups.

You work on behalf of the principal but are expected to be independent and take responsibility for the processes you drive. You are part of the school's EHT and have a coordinating role. As a special teacher, you collaborate with teachers in identifying students' needs. You conduct and follow up on assessments, investigations, and the development of action plans. You have a coordinating role in the work around extra adaptations and special support. Guiding conversations with staff and communication with guardians are important tasks.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for someone who is a licensed special educator/special teacher or is in training.
  • You have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and possess a good ability to translate these into practical daily work.
  • You work on behalf of the principal but are expected to be independent and take responsibility for the processes you drive.
  • You are part of the school's EHT and have a coordinating role.
  • As a special educator/special teacher, you collaborate with teachers in identifying students' needs.
  • You conduct and follow up on assessments, investigations, and the development of action plans. You have a coordinating role in the work around extra adaptations and special support.
  • Guiding conversations with staff and communication with guardians are important tasks.
  • You build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

Furthermore, the job requires good collaboration skills, a positive attitude, initiative, and the ability to adapt your approach based on the situation, as well as a strong interest in developing the educational activities. It is important that you see each student from a holistic perspective and have a positive view of students, which means you understand that each student performs to the best of their ability based on their circumstances, and it is your task as a teacher to meet each student's needs. We place great emphasis on preventive student health work that is based on a comprehensive, systematic, and collaborative student health effort that starts in the classroom.
