Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility

In your role as a special educator at JENSEN Komvux, you will support teachers in their work to create accessible learning environments for all students. You will also work to identify the need for additional adjustments among our students and serve as a support for teachers in special educational issues. You motivate and coach teachers and students towards good study results and positive knowledge development according to national governing documents.

You will be part of a team with principals and teachers at the unit level to work on the development of our classroom courses and distance education regarding additional adjustments for students who need it. You will actively participate in the resource team across all of JENSEN Komvux, which consists of study and career counselors, principals, one other special educator, and special teachers. You will actively contribute to the development of the units and take responsibility for ensuring that the operations meet their goals.

You will:

• Be available at each school unit based on needs
• Map students' needs for support and adjustments
• Develop materials and create structures and routines for teachers on how they can work with students who need additional adjustments and accessible learning environments (physical, social, pedagogical)
• Be an asset of special educational competence for teachers through, for example, training initiatives and environmental monitoring
• Create structures to follow up on individual cases where teachers have received support with recommendations
• Support teachers with knowledge and handling of various learning tools and digital aids
• Be a contact person for stakeholders and participate in the networks organized

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified special educator with professional experience in adult education. You are accustomed to students with varying levels of prior knowledge and have the ability to help each one reach set goals. As a person, you are creative and open to new ideas and perspectives. You are attentive with a strong sense of responsibility and have good digital skills. Since many of our tools are linked to Google, it is an advantage if you are a proficient user of these.

Employment Form

The position is a permanent full-time employment with immediate start or according to agreement. The position begins with a six-month probationary period.
