JTEKT Column Systems AB is a leading system supplier that develops, produces and sells adjustable steering columns, telescopic axles and valves to the leading manufacturers of trucks, buses and agricultural machinery in Europe. We are the market leader for steering columns for heavy vehicles in Europe, a position we have achieved through innovative product development and efficient production. Job responsibilities

As a Design Engineer with us, you are responsible for developing products according to customer requirements and contributing with improvement suggestions based on your experience. Your main responsibilities include:

- Development of product concepts and detailed product design based on customer requirements and specifications.

- Participation in meetings and activities to ensure continuous improvements.

- Handling of D-FMEA, product specifications, test specifications and other technical documents.

- Support for test and measurement labs with tests, analyses and reports.

- Creation of data for prototypes and support for production during design and improvement work.

- Communication with customers and suppliers to ensure technical solutions and quality.

You will work closely with other functions and contribute ideas and solutions in teams to develop innovative and cost-effective products.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has/is:

- At least 3 years of university education with a technical focus or equivalent.

- At least 3 years of experience in design, preferably safety parts in the automotive industry.

- Experience working in projects.

- Solid knowledge of Catia V5 and preferably SmartTeam or similar.

- ERP Systems

- Knowledge of mechanics, and preferably basic knowledge of mechatronics or basic electronics.

- Experience of calculations and simulations and IATF 16949 is an asset.

- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

- Good IT skills

- Fail safe knowledge

In this position, there are many contacts with our parent company in Japan, which is why fluent or deeply knowledge of Japanese, both spoken and written, is a necessary skill.
