Höglandsförbundet is a municipal federation formed by Aneby, Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. These five municipalities, located in the Småland highlands, value collaboration and know that we are stronger together. By combining our strengths and resources, we can increase competence, better utilize resources, improve quality, and provide better service to our residents. Today, we have a range of different operations working for the benefit of the entire Höglandet.

One of the operations within Höglandsförbundet is Höglandsgymnasiet. Höglandsgymnasiet has schools in Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. In total, we have about 550 employees working to ensure that our approximately 3000 students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for the future in the workforce or for further studies.

Your new job

As a special teacher/teacher with us, you will be part of a team where you collaborate with other educators and student assistants to support the students enrolled in the individual program. You will plan, implement, and evaluate teaching based on each student's abilities, create good conditions for learning, and stimulate and challenge students' knowledge development.

The students have various physical and neuropsychiatric functional variations. The work may involve some heavy lifting and certain caregiving tasks.

As an employee at an adapted upper secondary school, you are expected to work from a fundamental assumption that all students should achieve their goals and receive help and support to develop as far as possible. This occurs, for example, in teaching situations, in the mentoring role, in team collaboration, and in overall school development work.

About you

We want you to have a teaching degree, and it is an advantage if you are a qualified special teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. If you are a preschool teacher or teacher who feels that you want to train as a special teacher, you are warmly welcome to apply to us.

As a person, you are calm and stable, even in stressful situations. You take initiative and drive for development. You have previously worked with students who have intellectual disabilities and have a deep understanding of low-arousal responses, outwardly aggressive behavior, and clear pedagogical approaches. Your work is characterized by a strong desire to create good conditions for learning and to challenge students' knowledge development in a stimulating way. You have a good understanding that students can absorb knowledge in different ways and adapt your approach to the individual in front of you. You are creative in your work and find new ways to move forward. You easily establish good contacts with both students and parents and collaborate well with your colleagues.
