About the department

Ward 16 and 29 is a specialist medical department focused on endocrinology and gastroenterology.

We provide highly specialized inpatient care. Here you will meet patients with acute or chronic liver disease, newly diagnosed diabetes, and patients who have undergone pituitary tumor surgery. The department provides national highly specialized care, including liver transplants, which means that many of our patients are evaluated for or cared for while waiting for a liver transplant. We also have a day care unit where patients come for planned treatments and investigations in endocrinology.

Patients are referred from home or admitted via our own clinics, emergency departments, or from other hospitals.

Job responsibilities

On wards 16 and 29, nurses and nursing assistants work in teams to provide the best care for our patients. The work is varied and rewarding, as our patients often have multiple health conditions. Our department is large and welcoming, and we are accustomed to receiving new employees and students. If you feel that you lack sufficient knowledge regarding a task, we are happy to teach you.

About you

You are a licensed nurse, and previous experience in hospital care or our specialties is an advantage but not a requirement. Engagement and interest in our patient groups are the most important!

For the development of the organization, we hope that you are creative, structured, have the ability to think innovatively, and can communicate suggestions and new ideas. You are good at collaborating and see the team as an important part of the work. We see that you have a positive attitude and contribute to an open, accepting, and pleasant work environment. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
