Personal Assistant for a Social and Active Young Man in Tjörn (70%)

Do you want a job where no day is the same? Where one moment you help with practical daily tasks and the next you are on stage in front of an audience? We are now looking for a personal assistant for a young man who lives independently in Tjörn and leads an active life.

About the Job

You will assist with everything from household chores, gym training, and leisure activities to being present at his lectures – both on and off stage. Personal hygiene is also part of the job, as well as occasionally interpreting his communication with others.

Who We Are Looking For

• You speak and understand Swedish very well, as you will sometimes need to interpret for the young man.
• You have a driver's license and are comfortable driving his car for work.
• You enjoy being around people and find it easy to collaborate – he has a large and social circle around him.

Conditions

The position starts with a temporary hourly contract and then transitions to a fixed-term contract as long as the assistance assignment lasts, with a working rate of 70%. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends according to a rotating schedule.

GIL has been coordinating personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has roots in the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that those with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Typically, the person receiving assistance is the closest supervisor of the assistants, or a person with specific knowledge about the individual is appointed.
