As a Personal Assistant

As a personal assistant, you work with individuals who have disabilities and need help managing their daily lives.

We are looking for someone who enjoys challenges and wants to make a difference with one of Sweden's most important jobs.

We are seeking a personal assistant to support a 40-year-old man with an acquired brain injury. You will be a support and help the user create security in everyday life. We want you to be attentive and curious. You should be calm and stress-resistant in situations where challenging behavior occurs.

Job Responsibilities

You should have a user focus and be solution-oriented. You have good judgment, work independently, but also have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues and other professional groups within social welfare.

Respect for people's self-determination and integrity is the foundation of your work. You provide the user with support in daily life so that he can manage to live as independently as possible.

You who apply are positive and enjoy challenges; it is important that you are creative and take the initiative for activities.

The user attends daily activities a few days a week, and you will support him in that work. The job also involves helping him at home with household chores, personal hygiene, cleaning, cooking, training, and other activities.

The user has assistance around the clock, so evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call are included in the working hours.

Together with your colleagues, you ensure that the daily life of the residents functions in the best way and that the individual receives the services he or she is entitled to. You work independently, have good judgment, and collaborate smoothly with other professional groups within Care & Welfare.

You provide users with support in their daily lives so that they can manage to live as independently as possible. We work with contact person responsibility where you have a special responsibility for one or more residents, and where you create good relationships with the individual and their relatives.

Your work includes ongoing documentation and responsibility for implementation plans.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an approved education within Care and Welfare College: Care and Welfare Program with vocational qualification (GY-11), approved grades from adult education in care and welfare of at least 1500 credits (VUX-12) including approved Gymnasium work and at least grade E in Swedish 1 or approved grade in Swedish A or equivalent at the upper secondary level. A diploma from Care and Welfare College is an advantage.

Previous Care Programs or previous care education within adult education are considered equivalent to today's Care and Welfare Program. For employment in the disability area, approved education from the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social work or previous education in the field may also be applicable. Experience in similar work is an advantage.

You have the ability to create security and to meet and understand the user's needs. For you, it is natural to have a professional approach in your work, and you always put the user at the center. Since social documentation and communication are important in your work, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish and good computer skills. Transport between care recipients is done by bike or car. Therefore, you need to have a driver's license (for cars with manual transmission) and/or the ability to cycle.
