At Komvux Malmö, we are looking for a teacher for teaching natural science at the upper secondary level. Work with us and contribute to the future of Malmö residents and society.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you work to help students develop their full potential – both academically and socially. You support, motivate, and stimulate each student to meet the knowledge requirements based on their individual circumstances. Your work includes planning, teaching, assessment, as well as evaluation and development of the educational activities, in accordance with the school's governing documents.

We are a learning organization that promotes knowledge exchange, where you are in an environment characterized by collegial learning and development. Together with colleagues, you work to create a good learning and working environment for both students and staff. You also contribute to the quality and development work at the school.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Teaching certification
• Qualification to teach natural science at the upper secondary level
• Experience in teaching natural science
• Very good subject knowledge
• Good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents
• Experience using digital tools for communication and pedagogy
• Very good Swedish in both spoken and written form

Meritorious:

• Qualification to teach an additional subject, e.g., biology, chemistry, mathematics, programming, or AI
• Experience teaching in adult education
• Experience in distance education
• Interest and competence in supporting students with lacking prior knowledge and confidence

We are looking for someone who is confident in the teaching role and creates good conditions for students' learning and development. With a creative approach and a very good pedagogical ability, you adapt your teaching to both the student's and the group's circumstances and prior knowledge. Your working style is characterized by good structure, and you organize and prioritize tasks effectively. You contribute to good collaborations and communicate openly, clearly, and attentively with your surroundings. In your work, you focus on the residents of Malmö, uphold the values of Malmö city, and meet every individual with understanding and respect.

About the workplace

Komvux Malmö offers education at the basic and upper secondary levels, Swedish for immigrants, education for students with special needs, and vocational training. We work to offer students teaching that can be combined with other commitments, such as work, studies, and parenting. Therefore, we have courses available online or in classrooms, full-time or part-time, and day or evening classes. Our facilities are conveniently located near buses and trains in central Malmö.
