We are all different. We are also all alike and have the same right to a safe home, meaningful employment, and to feel valuable. With the right conditions, we can grow, develop, and participate in society on our own terms.
Within the administration for support for individuals with disabilities, we provide support, service, and care to children and adults with disabilities and create opportunities for them to live a good and independent life, just like everyone else. By spreading knowledge and collaborating within the City of Gothenburg and with other actors, we increase understanding of individuals' needs and design interventions that make a real difference.
With 6,200 dedicated employees, we are Sweden's largest support administration for individuals with disabilities. We work within housing with special services, daily activities, employment, housing support, personal assistance, children's and short-term accommodations, respite care, and support and guidance.
Do you want to contribute to a more inclusive society? Welcome to us!
You are Gothenburg.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a support pedagogue for Kviberg's service housing in the Northeast!
It is a BmSS with 12 accommodation places. The target group includes individuals with intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities, as well as psychiatry. Those living at Kviberg's service housing are young adults up to younger middle age. The users need support from staff to create functioning routines and maintain structure in their daily lives, as well as motivation to promote independence. Challenging behavior occurs in the operation, as well as various types of self-harm. Some care is also required.
We work with low-arousal approaches (LAB), AAC (alternative/augmentative communication), and MI (motivational interviewing) and strive to create a meaningful existence and good communication for and with the users.
As a support pedagogue, you have overall responsibility for the pedagogical work within the operation. You will establish working methods and ensure that they are used and developed effectively. Together with the workgroup, you will establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and job descriptions. You will ensure that social documentation and implementation plans according to IBIC are established, further developed, and followed according to laws and guidelines. You will be a driving force in the unit's systematic quality work, as well as guide, quality assure, and support colleagues in social documentation.
Together with other support pedagogues in the city area, you will be part of a support pedagogue network led by method developers. You will have contact with relatives, guardians, daily activities, caseworkers, and home care/rehab to ensure the user receives good care, support, and service. An important part of your assignment is to encourage and work for good cooperation with all individuals in the person's network.
Working hours are day, evening, and every other weekend. We have a flexible base schedule. Working hours are partly allocated in the operation with close work with users in combination with pedagogical time. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS
For the position of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the disability area is required, encompassing at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or 60 higher education credits with two years of work experience with individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.
It is a requirement that you have knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL (An Independent Life), and experience working with LAB (Low-Arousal Approach). Since there is a lot of documentation involved in the assignment, you need to have good skills in handling various IT supports.
It is advantageous if you have previously worked as a support pedagogue, and if you have experience with SIP (Coordinated Individual Plan) and consent, coercion, and restrictions. It is also advantageous if you have experience working in Treserva and with IBIC.
You have the ability to share information and ideas, both verbally and in writing. You express the core of an argument clearly and effectively. As a person, you are independent and act on your own based on what the situation requires without needing support from others. You have the ability to make independent decisions within the framework of your assignment. You work effectively under stress, can balance different demands, and remain calm in difficult situations. You distinguish between the matter and the person and can make well-founded decisions under time pressure.
