Social Services Hisingen is part of the social services in the City of Gothenburg. We are one of four social services departments. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.

We offer support in individual and family care, social emergency services, assistance with addiction issues, and integration matters. We also work with recreational activities and preventive work in areas such as public health, community planning, local safety work, and integration issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The department for financial assistance works with authority exercises and consists of a reception unit and four equivalent units that handle ongoing assistance cases. The units are located in two local offices at Hösvädersgatan 1 and Dunfins gata 20-22.

The Financial Assistance 1 unit operates at the local office on Hösvädersgatan. The unit consists of 13 social workers, two administrators, two senior social workers, and one unit manager. One of our skilled senior social workers has left us for a new assignment, and we are now looking for his successor.

As a senior social worker, you have a supervisory role where you, together with your colleague, are responsible for the daily work. You are responsible for the distribution of tasks and support social workers in their case management, both individually and in groups. You ensure that social workers work in accordance with applicable guidelines, that case management is of high quality, and that we provide a good reception to those we meet.

The social workers are divided into two teams where you and your colleague have primary responsibility for each group. You are expected to guide and mentor your colleague's group when they are not on duty.

You will collaborate closely with your unit manager and your senior colleague on matters related to goals and assignments, operational development, and routines. You will also be part of a network for senior social workers both internally and externally. Collaboration internally and externally is a significant part of your work as you are often the link to other units and our partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this position, it is a requirement that you are a trained social worker and have many years of experience in authority exercises related to financial assistance. We would also like you to have experience working as a senior social worker.

You need to be confident in your professional role and well acquainted with the Social Services Act, applicable guidelines for financial assistance, and what lawful case management entails. You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You have a good ability to convey your knowledge to others and can adapt your leadership style in daily work based on everyone's individual conditions and needs.

You are collaborative and easily establish and maintain good relationships. You understand the common mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the whole.

You can see your work as part of a larger context. You have a good ability to overview your own area of responsibility and understand the operation from the perspectives of users, employees, and employers.
