JOB DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Area D, which includes Stigtomta and Släbroskolan/Råby. We are two primary schools with lower and middle school classes and associated after-school activities. Släbroskolan has 458 students and Stigtomta has 307 students, working together with school staff to make the school day fun, safe, and equitable for all students. We focus on organizational development, have joy in our work, and a clear process towards an equitable school for all students.

Together with school management and educational staff, you will work based on an existing action plan and an annual cycle. The school librarian plays an important role in our reading annual cycle where you, together with lead teachers and reading inspirers, inspire and train educators and drive a common theme each academic year.

In your role as a school librarian, there will be great opportunities to shape and develop your work with the aim of being an integrated part of the school's teaching. You will work in various ways with teachers and students regarding students' reading as well as media and information literacy. You will be involved in lesson planning where you sometimes act as a co-educator in the classroom and at other times plan and lead lessons more independently.

In the library, you will be available as support for students and teachers. The tasks will vary and include everything from providing literature tips to students and teachers, guiding individual students or small groups in information retrieval, returning and shelving books, purchasing, weeding, and registering new media, as well as ensuring that students who need access to audiobooks have it.

QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in library and information science or equivalent education. Experience working in school libraries or educational activities is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have basic knowledge of library systems and have knowledge of and interest in children and youth and literature in various genres. Furthermore, you have a good ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and are familiar with the governing documents that regulate the school and the school library's activities.
