We are now building our new section Technical Information! Do you have knowledge and interest in technical information management and digital models in construction and civil engineering projects? Welcome to apply for the position of Information Engineer!

The municipality is growing, and the demand for Uppsala Vatten's essential services is increasing. Currently, we are working on a digitization and efficiency project regarding technical facility information, and we are looking for an Information Engineer who wants to join us on this journey. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence the design of working methods and processes within the new section Technical Information.

About the Position

As an Information Engineer, you will ensure that information quantities are available, complete, and accurate according to applicable information requirements for existing facilities. You will also assist and ensure technical information flows during the management phase as well as during project and design work.

Responsibilities include, among others:

Inventory, update, correct, and maintain technical information to ensure that it is complete, accurate, and accessible. The information exists both physically at facilities and in digital format.
Replace and archive outdated information.
Receive and insert new technical information from new and renovation projects.

As part of the new section Technical Information, you will be involved in establishing routines and developing common and uniform processes and working methods. You will work closely with colleagues in the section, which includes an Information Engineer and an Information Coordinator. In addition to your own section, the work will be done in collaboration with colleagues across many parts of the organization, including process engineers, facility engineers, project managers, designers, and technical specialists.

You will report to the section manager for technical information and your workplace will be in our newly renovated premises in Uppsala Business Park or Librobäck, with the possibility of remote work. Qualifications

Education at the civil or university engineering level with a relevant focus, such as in civil engineering or data management, or equivalent competence/experience that we deem comparable.
Technical competence in CAD/BIM (Building Information Models) and knowledge of various file formats such as DGN, DWG, and IFC.
Knowledge of information management, digital document management, and digital models in construction and civil engineering projects.
Knowledge of managing technical information handling, drawing archives, and checking in and out documents.
Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

Experience as a data coordinator.
Experience with GIS.
Good knowledge of English.

A large part of our operations is classified as essential services because we supply Sweden's fourth largest city with drinking water. For this position, a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before employment. You should also be prepared to be assigned to a wartime position within the framework of Uppsala Vatten and Waste's role in total defense. Uppsala Vatten applies a 6-month probationary period.
