Job Responsibilities

As a traffic engineer, you will be part of a team whose main focus is to plan, develop, and optimize traffic environments.

We are now looking for a skilled employee for a broad and varied role where you will work both operationally and strategically with traffic regulation issues. You will have a strategic role where you participate in planning projects and contribute to designing traffic solutions that meet both current and future needs. This can involve everything from the placement of road signs to ensuring that the street environment is functional and accessible. An important part of your work also involves handling various types of exemption applications and permits.

Together with the team, you will work to create the safest and most effective solutions possible and ensure that the traffic environment works as well as possible for the road users in Malmö.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in traffic, urban planning, civil engineering, or equivalent. You have previous experience in the areas of traffic planning, transport strategy, or similar.

It is an advantage if you have:

Experience working with digital tools for traffic planning and analysis
Experience as an advisor during the construction phase of various projects
Experience in public administration
Good understanding of traffic legislation and relevant regulations

To thrive and succeed in the role of traffic engineer, it is important that you have good judgment and can make correct trade-offs between different interests and needs. You communicate clearly, ensure that messages are conveyed, and follow up as needed. Your linguistic and analytical skills enable you to understand and manage complex materials as well as formulate your own texts of high quality. You are confident and stable with good self-awareness and can balance the personal and professional in a natural way. At the same time, you have a well-developed empathetic ability, which allows you to understand others' perspectives and meet different parties with understanding and respect.
