JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a support educator for Bmss for children and youth at Billdals Björkväg who has a genuine interest in working with individuals with autism at a low developmental level. You will spend most of your working hours in close contact with users, focusing on creating meaningful content in everyday life based on clear pedagogical methods.

Billdals Björkväg Bmss is a residence for children and youth with autism, ADHD, and moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. We see a need to develop our work with individually adapted activities, structure, and a meaningful everyday life, and therefore we are expanding our team with a support educator for direct work.

Your mission will be to work closely with one of the youth to develop the work with meaningful activities in everyday life. You will play an important role in leading the pedagogical work forward based on assessments and creating meaningful activities in everyday life for the individual. Your role also includes working on capacity-building initiatives regarding autism for the workgroup, which requires you to have good knowledge of autism and pedagogical methods.

You will work closely with support assistants, but you will have a leading pedagogical role to develop the work and guide your colleagues. You will also collaborate closely with the two existing support educators, even though your assignments differ.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of support educator, a post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities is required, encompassing at least 200 YH points or 60 higher education credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least two semesters of full-time studies. The education should have a clear focus on the field of disabilities in its entirety.

Experience with social documentation and knowledge of applicable legislation for LSS, HSL, SoL is also a requirement. You also have previous experience with autism and intellectual disabilities and have experience with AAC and clear pedagogical methods from previous work.

For this position, you need to have a B driver's license.

It is a plus if you have previous experience working with sensory stimulation as a method and experience with sign language support. It is also meritorious to have worked with low-arousal responses based on Studio 3 and/or Durewall.

You have the ability to find new solutions and perspectives in your work to solve problems, are curious, and encourage dialogue. You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions and adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient.
