Marine Electrician at Ö-varvet

At our facility in Hönö, we develop new rescue boats in close collaboration with the Swedish Sea Rescue Society. Here you will have the opportunity to participate in projects that directly strengthen and improve sea rescue in Sweden. We are now looking for someone who wants to be part of our team and contribute with your technical expertise and drive!

As a marine electrician with us, you will work with commissioning, troubleshooting, and new installations of electrical systems on rescue boats. You will have the opportunity to work with both software and hardware, ensuring that all systems function flawlessly before the boats are delivered. After delivery, you will also be an important part of our support and maintenance operations.

You will:

• Commission and troubleshoot electrical systems onboard boats
• Work with both hardware and software – from schematics to finished solutions
• Read electrical diagrams and create structure for software management
• Have some customer contact to ensure high quality and service
• Support with service and maintenance after the boats have been delivered

The work is varied and offers both challenges and opportunities. Since we work onboard boats, the work environment can sometimes be a bit cramped, but that is part of the charm of working practically and close to production. What makes the job particularly meaningful is the knowledge that what we build saves lives and contributes to safety at sea.

You will be part of a workgroup with about 30 employees, including 9 experienced electricians with different areas of responsibility and expertise. Together we work to build and improve boats that make a real difference, in modern and well-equipped facilities.

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• Experience with some of these systems: CAN (J1939), NMEA, radio, and communication technologies such as Ethernet, WiFi, 4G, and 5G
• Understanding of alternating current and direct current
• The ability to communicate fluently in Swedish, as well as being able to read and be understood in English

You are self-driven and like to take initiative in your work. With a structured and organized approach, you plan your tasks to achieve the best results. You are happy to contribute your ideas and have the ability to find solutions on your own. We appreciate precision and see that you have the ability to work with both accuracy and care in what you do.

Ö-varvet is a new construction and repair/service yard that performs dry docking, repair/service, reconstruction, new construction, and marine electronics in Öckerö. Our mechanical production takes place in Hönö, where we carry out, for example, the manufacture of winches and steel and aluminum constructions.

We are located in a fantastic environment out on Öckerö. If you live out on the islands, you probably know how to get here, but getting to us from the city is also easy. Ferries depart every ten minutes from Lilla Varholmen, and the journey takes only 12 minutes. Once across, it is only a couple of kilometers to the yard, and there are both bus connections and a nice bike path.
