Providing pedagogical support in the IPSU service could be your next big challenge!
IPSU - Individual Pedagogical Support in Education is a valuable and qualitative service that the Swedish Public Employment Service procures with the ultimate goal of taking strategic responsibility within labor market policy by giving more people the chance to complete an education in various shortage occupations.
To make educational efforts accessible for job seekers with disabilities, the Swedish Public Employment Service offers, with the help of our efforts, special pedagogical support in the form of IPSU. Read more about the assignment here.
As an IPSU educator, you will work closely with our participants under the guidance of our specialist. The assignments vary greatly and can involve a pedagogical setup where you meet the participant several hours every day or just a few hours per week.
The pedagogical support for each participant takes place at various educational providers, which means a varied and developing workday, so it is important that you enjoy a changing work situation. In some educational programs, part of the lessons takes place outdoors. Some of the support can also be provided remotely if deemed appropriate. Your workday will be flexible, challenging, and very value-creating!
Your task is to help the participant achieve the conditions to succeed in their studies through special pedagogical methods and the use of technical aids, apps, etc. You are a complement to the regular teacher and are not expected to teach or know the subjects in the current curriculum.
As many of our participants have diagnoses that affect their ability to handle a learning situation, it is important that you have experience and knowledge in the area. You will also receive continuous support in your work from the responsible specialist and other educators. We see it as a great advantage if you have technical aptitude and an interest in “new technology” and wish that you have experience working with cognitive aids in a learning situation, but you will also receive ongoing guidance from the responsible specialist as well as training/workshops on current aids.
At Jobfind, we work in teams, and you will be part of a collegial forum where development and collaboration are natural elements in the workday. To thrive with us, we believe that you enjoy testing different approaches and methods for ongoing evaluation, and you feel comfortable working independently as well as being part of a team.
Since the role involves many contacts within and outside the organization, you need to have an easy time building trusting relationships with people.
In your daily work, you will have ongoing dialogue with coordinators, special educators/other specialists, and teachers in the education.
The role includes:
- Pedagogical work supporting (1) participant in an educational situation
- Collaboration and dialogue with staff at various actors providing the educational efforts relevant to our participants, e.g., teachers at providers of labor market education, folk high schools, and preparatory education
- Collaboration with the responsible specialist such as audiologist, special educator, vision educator, sign language competence, or occupational therapist
- Dialogue with and reporting to coordinators
- Reporting and documentation of completed efforts in various systems
- Participation in collegial forums, follow-ups, and quality work
In the employment at Jobfind, there is an expectation that each individual, i.e., YOU, takes responsibility for increasing your self-awareness about what conditions you need to feel good and succeed in your work – and dare to communicate these to your colleagues. Together, we can achieve most things!
We consider it very important that you share our values: we are principled, we keep our promises, we succeed together, and we value all people – read more about what we mean by these words on our website.
Working at Jobfind means being part of an expansive journey; we are relatively new in the market as a company but are rooted in a very long-term ownership structure, and those of us driving Jobfind forward have over 25 years of experience in the industry and have delivered the IPSU service/similar assignments in previous procurements for nearly as long.
