About the assignment Friskis&Svettis Västerås is a fantastic organization with four facilities and approximately 16,000 members who train, laugh, and sweat with us. The staff ensures that our members feel comfortable, our facilities are well maintained, and that our over 300 volunteers have the best possible conditions to contribute their positive energy, cohesion, and desire to create enjoyable training – every time!

We are now looking for an engaged and strategic operations manager who is ready to lead and further develop our dynamic association. Here you will have the chance to make a difference – in people's lives and for the continued development of the association.

About the role As the operations manager, you have a strategic and long-term overall responsibility for the association and report to the board. You develop the operations ideologically and value-wise as well as in business and marketing aspects. The work is outward-facing and networking, where you build relationships with companies, associations, and other stakeholders in a businesslike manner. You also have close responsibility for finance, staff, and volunteers.

Your main areas of responsibility

• Drive strategic development forward and ensure long-term sustainability – economically, environmentally, and socially.
• Be responsible for finances, including budgeting and follow-up.
• Lead and motivate both employees and volunteer staff.
• Work on member recruitment and marketing.
• Develop and nurture collaborations with external stakeholders in a businesslike manner.
• Develop training offerings and member experiences in line with Friskis values.

Are you the one we are looking for? We are looking for someone with experience in leading an organization and driving development. You have a coaching and inclusive leadership style, a good understanding of finances, and the ability to switch between strategic and operational tasks. Your energy and commitment inspire others.

To succeed in this role, we want you to have

• Documented experience of good and inspiring leadership and organizational development, which you exemplify in your application.
• Knowledge in finance and budgeting.
• A strong ability to communicate and create engagement.
• Good understanding of what it takes to run a non-profit organization.
• A university degree or other post-secondary education deemed relevant.

Desirable experiences

• Extensive experience in marketing and member recruitment.
• Interest in fitness and exercise.
