Safety Material Technician at the Transport Air Squadron

The Transport Air Squadron is the unit that provides tactical transport airlift with the Tp84 (C-130 Hercules) aircraft both nationally and internationally. Our mission is to transport materials and personnel, perform airborne supply, and tactical air transport.

The main task of the Transport Air Company is to create conditions for flying with the TP84 (C-130H) by conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on the flight system. The company is also responsible for conducting its own material and vehicle service, component maintenance, safety material service, storage service, and ramp service for the company and the squadron. We are now looking for a safety material technician for the Transport Air Company.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct planned and corrective maintenance on flight safety-impacting crew equipment and materials such as life rafts, parachutes, oxygen masks, flight helmets, etc.
• Planning, preparation, and execution of front UH on type-specific base and flight materials.
• Ordering external repair resources for type-specific base and flight materials.
• Participation in the squadron's exercises and operations.

Qualifications

• Category B driver's license
• Swedish citizenship
• Meets the requirements according to FM FYSS
• Fitness assessed during statutory health examination according to AFS 2014:43 (hard plastic examination) conducted at Såtenäs upon employment.

Meritorious

• Experience of technical work in the Armed Forces
• Knowledge of FM common data systems and data systems within material service (e.g., PRIO, LIFT, and FENIX)
• Civil driver's license C/Military authorization heavy truck
• ADR training.
• Previous work with aircraft materials or sewing service.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone with good teamwork skills, who is meticulous and unpretentious. You should be able to work both independently and in a group, in a home environment as well as during operations.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities such as cooperation ability, flexibility, organizational skills, and service attitude. We also see that you have good communication skills and can express yourself well in speech and writing and have full proficiency in Swedish and English. You should be a good representative of the Armed Forces and stand behind the Armed Forces' values.

The Skaraborg Air Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here you will find combat aircraft as well as the Armed Forces' combined resources for transport and special aviation. We conduct basic and position training for conscripted recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many operations. In Sweden, the operations are located in Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for the Swedish personnel at the international transport air cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
