Summer Job at the Swedish Medical Products Agency
At the Swedish Medical Products Agency, we make a difference together. In life and for life. We work for the health of people and animals, for a better Sweden today and in the future. During the summer of 2025, we need to find students who are meticulous and want to work with database management and structured information in the agency's medicinal product register.
Our Operations
The area of Operations for Licenses works in several ways to ensure that appropriate medicines reach the patient. Approvals of new medicines, safety monitoring, and handling changes to approved products are central parts of our mission, as well as providing advice regarding medicinal product development and information about medicines. The Operations for Licenses has over 300 employees and consists of several units, where we who work at the Unit for Pharmacy and Biotechnology (FoB) assess the pharmaceutical quality of medicines. This includes evaluating documentation regarding development, manufacturing, characterization, and control of medicines throughout their lifecycle. The assessment forms an important basis for the decision on whether a medicine can be approved for clinical use. We collaborate with other EU member states and actively contribute to committees and working groups within the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The unit also participates in efforts to assist companies and researchers with scientific advice, as well as in the development of guidelines within the framework of international normative cooperation.
Your Responsibilities
We are looking for four university students who want to work at the unit for Pharmacy and Biotechnology during the summer (hourly employment). The work involves entering product information into our national database, including retrieving data from an EU database or interpreting free text fields to structure the information. The data compiled through this work aims to provide Sweden and the EU with better information about the availability of medicines, how they are manufactured and used.
Your Background
We are looking for someone studying a natural science program with a focus on pharmaceuticals, such as a full-time pharmacist at a college or university, who has completed at least three semesters of their education. You should have gained some knowledge in the pharmaceutical field through university courses. You have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, and you should be able to comprehend information in both Swedish and English. You also have very good computer skills. Experience with Excel or similar and database systems/complex registers is an advantage.
Your Personal Qualities
You are meticulous, structured, attentive, and have an easy time collaborating. You want to be involved in planning your own work and finding solutions to problems. You work independently, initiate and complete your commitments. This means that you act in a trustworthy manner and are responsible. You have a very good ability to be productive, which means you balance the demands for efficiency and quality well. We place great importance on personal qualities.
