Operational Buyer at Saab

Are you a meticulous and solution-oriented buyer looking to take the next step in your career? Jefferson Wells is now seeking an operational buyer for an exciting consulting assignment with one of our clients. We are looking for someone with experience in purchasing processes and an interest in working in an international environment.

This is a consulting assignment where you will be employed by Jefferson Wells and then perform your work on-site at Saab's office locally in Östersund. There is an opportunity for remote work as well as the possibility to work at another location such as Åre where Saab has office spaces. The assignment starts with 6 months but there is a great chance for extension.

About the Assignment

As an operational buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring that materials and services are purchased according to the needs and requirements of the business. Your work will involve a wide variety of purchasing-related tasks, such as:

• Purchasing contracted materials and services in accordance with the customer's and projects' needs.
• Conducting purchases of non-contracted materials and services of low complexity and limited value.
• Managing operational purchasing activities and supplier contacts related to purchase orders, including requests for quotations (RFQ), orders, delivery monitoring, returns, complaints, and invoice management.
• Following up to ensure that suppliers meet their commitments according to purchase orders and agreed terms.
• Ensuring that necessary export documentation is provided by suppliers.
• Updating and maintaining the ERP system (IFS) with supplier and purchasing data.
• Monitoring and following up on supplier performance.
• Participating in supplier development and other improvement projects and analyses.
• Staying updated on technical, commercial, and other relevant aspects within the supplier team's area of responsibility.
• Ensuring supplier approval according to relevant guidelines.
• Negotiating terms for non-contracted materials.

Who Are You?

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• Experience in operational purchasing and purchasing processes.
• Good understanding of ERP systems, preferably IFS.
• Ability to work structured and independently.
• Strong communication skills and experience with supplier contacts.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Security Requirements

The assignment requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, there may, in some cases, be requirements for certain citizenship.
