The area of operation (VO) assistive devices is responsible for all areas of assistive devices currently funded by Region Skåne. This includes assistive devices for individuals with mobility, vision, hearing, communication, and cognitive impairments, medical treatment aids, orthopedic technical aids, and pharmaceutical-related products.

VO assistive devices has five reception units that are all characterized by positive engagement, close collaboration, good cohesion, and broad competence. Here, unit secretaries, assistive device technicians, and assistive device consultants work together with the patient in focus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for someone interested in a fun summer position as an assistive device technician!

As an assistive device technician, you will work with repairs, maintenance, assembly, delivery, and adaptation of electric wheelchairs and children's assistive devices. You help people with disabilities gain the conditions to manage their daily lives, so a strong interest in both people and technology is important. You will work closely with assistive device consultants, prescribers, and patients. You also have close collaboration with other assistive device technicians who can support you in your tasks. The work takes place both at our reception units and at patients' homes.

We operate throughout Skåne, but you will be based at a reception unit in either Malmö, Lund, or Helsingborg.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed a secondary education with a technical focus or other education and/or experience that we assess as equivalent. Additionally, you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. A valid B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is a requirement. Furthermore, you are an experienced user of tools and machines. We consider it an advantage if you have previously worked with individuals with disabilities and if you have basic knowledge of practical electrical engineering.

To thrive as an assistive device technician, you need to have a good ability to work both independently and in a team, as well as a strong desire to provide good service. There are high demands on your ability to plan, organize, and drive your work independently. Additionally, it is important that you have good problem-solving skills. Personal suitability is highly valued.
