We are looking for someone who wants a summer job where you create security and contribute to ensuring that our elderly residents in Kungsholmen have a meaningful and functional everyday life and summer.

Serafen Care and Nursing Home is a pleasant workplace that is at the forefront of development and renewal efforts. Serafen is part of one of Stockholm's four academic nodes that conducts evidence-based care and nursing, where the ambition is for research to be an integrated part of daily work. Our various focuses are somatics, short-term care, elderly psychiatry, younger dementia (under 65 years), and dementia. Serafen is located in Kungsholmen, within walking distance from T-Centralen.

As a Nursing Assistant/Care Assistant

As a nursing assistant/care assistant, you have scheduled working hours during the day, evening, and weekends (working hours between 7 AM and 9:15 PM depending on the day/evening/weekend). We are also looking for night staff (working hours 9:10 PM - 7:10 AM). You should be able to work at least 4 consecutive weeks during the period of June to August.

We have an introduction program with both theoretical and practical elements to ensure you feel safe and secure in your job. Parts of the introduction include training in handling medications before delegation, various techniques for transferring care recipients, documenting your work efforts, and learning about basic hygiene routines. We work according to Stockholm City's environmental program and for sustainable elderly care.

Your role

As a nursing assistant/care assistant, you have an important task to make people's everyday lives easier, better, and more enjoyable. You provide good care and social support to the elderly in daily life. This includes helping with medications, cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and personal care such as showering and toilet visits. You also promote the functional ability of the elderly and contribute to a social and active lifestyle. In addition to practical and social tasks, you have contact with relatives, participate in care planning, and document events in our documentation system.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone who meets one of the following requirements:

• high school or vocational education in care and nursing (degree or ongoing)
• ongoing studies in nursing or medical program
• other education or experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You also have:

• knowledge in care and nursing work
• good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
• computer, mobile, and system proficiency as documentation and reporting are part of the job
• at least 18 years old.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience working in elderly care
• experience working in care and nursing

About the recruitment process

You apply by attaching your CV and answering some selection questions. Attach your relevant educational and work certificates when you register your application. If you are called for an interview, it will be conducted digitally via Zoom. Prepare two references, at least one of whom should be a salary-setting manager. If you proceed after the interview and reference checks, you will be scheduled for a meeting with the organization. An agreement on the work period, introduction, and salary will be made with the responsible manager in the organization. We may request an extract from the criminal record. To be employed as a nursing assistant, a certificate of protected professional title is required. If the certificate is missing, you will be employed as a care assistant.

To work for Stockholm City with the elderly and people with disabilities in their homes, you must show an extract from the criminal record. The extract must not be older than 6 months from the date of issue.

The Department of Elderly Care is responsible for assistance handling and various services that enable the elderly to have their care needs met. Here there are care and nursing homes, service houses, support for relatives, day activities, and home care. The administration applies full-time as the norm, and you will be employed within Kungsholmen's elderly care.
