Every year, thousands of people experience interruptions in utility networks such as electricity, telephony, or internet traffic. These interruptions are often caused by damaged lines. As a field technician, you will prevent these damages by marking where the lines are located in connection with ground works. The role involves a great deal of personal responsibility and plenty of fresh air! You will spend your workday outdoors in the field with your car as your office.

Who you are

You who are applying for the position should be residing in or near Värnamo.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, has a strong work ethic, and a solution-oriented approach. You thrive with freedom under responsibility and work independently with great commitment. To succeed in the role, you should appreciate outdoor work and have good communication skills.

Experience in utility marking or construction work is advantageous but not a requirement. Do you have experience as a service technician or have you worked with installation and maintenance in a field operation? Then this role could be perfect for you.

As part of your introduction, you will have access to internal training where you will learn our working methods, as well as support from a mentor who will help you settle into the role.

You are expected to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and preferably also in English.

Job responsibilities

As a field technician, your main responsibilities will be to mark utility networks in the field on behalf of various network owners. Using modern technology and measuring instruments, you will identify and mark the positions of cables in preparation for ground works.

Production planning is managed from a central function, where incoming cases are prepared and scheduled with available field technicians. You and the production planner will work closely together to ensure the delivery of cases.

In your daily work, you will have contact with customers and contractors, making it essential that you are communicative and service-oriented.

Geomatikk provides a service vehicle and technical tools such as tablets, mobile phones, and measuring instruments. The service vehicle will serve as “your office” from which you operate, requiring flexibility and good organizational skills.

Security requirements

Geomatikk's operations are subject to the Security Protection Act, which means that when we recruit, you as an applicant must undergo a security review with a background check and a special interview. The security review takes place in connection with or after your interview, and you must give your consent to undergo the review.
