The hospital in Ystad is an emergency hospital with a wide range of specialized care and a family-like atmosphere. We offer healthcare with quality, accessibility, a holistic view, and care. The Intensive Care and Postoperative Department in Ystad currently has intensive care beds, intermediate care beds, and postoperative care beds that are staffed around the clock, where both children and adults are cared for. The recovery department also has ten monitoring places from Monday to Friday, where both children and adults are cared for. The hospital in Ystad works according to the Magnet Model, which was introduced in 2022.

The intensive care unit focuses on general intensive care and offers treatment in a high-tech environment. We perform surgeries in general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, and ear, nose, and throat surgery. We offer mentorship to support and strengthen the professional identity of new employees, with the goal of developing well-functioning and secure teams with satisfied employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities as a nursing assistant include caring for and monitoring critically ill patients with the help of medical technical equipment. The workday consists of various care measures that are important for the patient's recovery, which is why you as a nursing assistant have a central role with the patient and their relatives. The work is done in interdisciplinary teams together with nurses, doctors, social workers, and physiotherapists.

As a nursing assistant with us, you have a job characterized by trust, participation, and personal responsibility. We offer you an individualized and thorough introductory program that is tailored to you and your needs. We use working hours with a quota model, allowing you to influence your schedule and have time for recovery. Every week, we also have competency-enhancing lectures at the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care/healthcare according to the previous program structure or are a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations. Additionally, you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You have at least two years of experience in emergency care.

We see that you have good computer skills and can easily learn new systems. You find it interesting to work with medical technical equipment. Specialized training or experience in acute, intensive, and postoperative care is an advantage.

As a person, you can quickly adapt to changing conditions. You are service-oriented and have a positive view of the challenges you face, and you enjoy sometimes working at a fast pace. Since we work closely with other healthcare personnel, it is important that you have a positive attitude and want to contribute to good collaboration. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare and social services. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you need to be able to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by the transitional provisions, it means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
