We are now seeking a strategic purchaser for our team to be responsible for commercial matters for our mines.

Your Role

In the role of strategic purchaser for our mines, you will lead the work in cross-functional category teams. Based on the needs and development plans of our mines, you will be responsible for the creation, development, and implementation of approved purchasing strategies. Together with your category teams, you will analyze and manage category and supply risks, identify cost drivers, and carry out activities to develop our suppliers and reduce costs.

In this role, you will:

• Analyze, ensure, and develop sustainable supply chains, identify and manage deviations and areas for improvement
• Create order and structure by developing appropriate contract and supplier management
• Develop and follow up on KPIs and performance goals within the category
• Be responsible for the supplier base and supplier development activities within your category
• Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and management to create development opportunities

We see that you are good at communicating, take initiative, and have an analytical ability that helps you manage complex business and see the big picture. For the role, it is required that you work in a structured manner and are not afraid of documentation/administration.

In addition to the above, we want you to have:

• Higher education in economics/law/engineering or other equivalent experience
• Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
• Driving license B, which is a requirement for all positions at LKAB

Meritorious:

• Experience from the process or mining industry
• Experience in purchasing work, negotiation, and business development
• Experience working in IFS and/or Coupa
