Company Description
Vattenfall Hydropower is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and approximately 300 dams in the Nordic region. We have about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. The renewable electricity production from hydropower is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society, where we play an important role as enablers for the sustainable energy systems of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. To deliver high availability in our production, we need to constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods, and take advantage of digital opportunities.
About the Role
Vattenfall Hydropower is now looking for engaged electricians
In this position, you will work with electrical maintenance and projects at hydropower facilities. You will be part of a team consisting of electricians, mechanics, warehouse technicians, alarm technicians, leading assemblers, machine operators, team leaders, and managers.
We work with supervision, preventive maintenance, and renovation projects at Vattenfall Hydropower's facilities. As an electrician, you will primarily work with electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, assembly work, inspections, preventive maintenance, and certain projects.
Examples of responsibilities/tasks:
- Participate in inspections/standstill together with mechanics, production technicians, and contractors
- Analyze and report faults or deficiencies, write messages in the maintenance system (SAP)
- Installations, repairs, and service
- Actively participate in planning and preparation of both maintenance and project work and be responsible for smaller projects
- Work to develop working methods so that the work is carried out safely and efficiently with correct risk assessments
- We welcome candidates who can take on a role as lead technician
Requirements
You have a secondary or post-secondary education in electrical engineering. It is an advantage if you have experience working with electrical maintenance in hydropower facilities or similar industrial operations. We also appreciate experience with instrumentation and handling of measurement values.
You have good IT skills, good knowledge of Swedish and English, and a B driver's license. Travel and overnight stays may be required as part of the job.
Safety in the workplace is paramount; you need to be an attentive and reliable colleague who enjoys collaborating in a team. You take great responsibility for ensuring that work is done efficiently under safe conditions with ongoing risk observations.
