In your work, you will be part of the HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) business unit that is a part of Hitachi Energy’s division and located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. Hitachi Energy’s developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.

How you’ll make an impact

• Lead and develop a new department that will be created under Main System Design.
• Contribute to the HVDC Main System Design Management team and collaborate with other managers in the organization.
• Develop people, new and existing processes, and tools within your team.
• Lead the team that will support transformation and backbone activities.
• Identify new ways of working to increase efficiency in the organization.
• Live Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background

• To be suitable for this management role, it is preferred that you have previous experience as a Line Manager. Knowledge of system design is highly desirable.
• We are looking for a self-motivated and reliable team player with an independent and result-oriented working style, as well as strong communicative and collaborative skills.
• You need to be thorough and structured with a high technical interest and strive for good solutions within the set time limits.
• You are interested in people and are prepared to support and enthuse your coworkers.
• We believe everything can be improved and it is vital that you have a positive mindset towards a learning organization that is continuously improving its knowledge, methods, and skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
