About the job

Are you a hands-on person with experience in mechanics and the ability to solve problems and find creative solutions? Are you responsible and driven? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

We are now seeking a shift mechanic for our client Ovako in Smedjebacken. This position is a direct employment with Ovako, offering good working conditions, collective agreement salary, and a workplace characterized by community, collaboration, and enjoyment – it should be fun to go to work!

As a shift mechanic, you will work with repairs, maintenance, and project work. You will also contribute with improvement suggestions to optimize the production flow. You are responsible and self-driven, and you thrive in a team. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are important qualities for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production equipment

• Assemble and adjust machines according to drawings or instructions

• Identify and replace defective components in hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Weld using methods such as electric and MIG

• Conduct machine inspections according to established routines

• Contribute to keeping the repair workshop in good condition

• Participate in projects as needed

• Work in the maintenance system API to manage work orders and spare parts

Location: Smedjebacken

Scope: Full-time

Working hours: 4-shift

About you

We are looking for someone with a background from industrial high school or equivalent education. You have experience in welding and are skilled at reading drawings. You are responsible, meticulous, and have a strong drive. As a person, you are service-oriented, cooperative, and have a clear communication style. Since safety is of utmost importance, you can act methodically and remain calm in unexpected situations.

Qualifications

• Education from industrial high school or equivalent

• Experience in welding

• Good knowledge of reading drawings

• Good computer skills

Meritorious

• Crane license

• Aerial lift training
