Sundsvall Municipality has approximately 8,000 employees and is significant for our society. We are Sundsvall's largest employer with several workplaces across various sectors and around 300 different professions.
Within the Department of Children and Education, our approximately 3,000 employees meet around 16,000 children and students at more than 130 units every day. Here, there is the opportunity to provide them with the conditions for continued learning and development. The politicians' and administration's goals and direction are that all children and students in Sundsvall Municipality's preschools and schools should have equal opportunities to develop, achieve their goals, and become active citizens with many opportunities in life.
The municipality has a significant mission to create benefits for all our residents. Regardless of the activity, we work towards the same goal: to be a good place to live, thrive, and work.
Our municipality participates in the green transition in Northern Sweden. We are convinced that the right places for this transition are here. As a municipality, we are fully preparing to grow by preparing land, creating new educational opportunities, marketing the municipality, and welcoming new residents from around the world.
At the Hedbergska school area, approximately 1,100 students study with guidance and support from around 100 employees in various functions.
The Hedbergska school area consists of the school buildings Hedbergska, GA-huset, and Altinska. The Restaurant and Food Program, with its more than 80 students, primarily conducts classes at Altinska. The main activity is within upper secondary school, but the school also runs a well-functioning adult education program. Both upper secondary school and adult education train students in the kitchen and service orientation.
We have a very close collaboration with the industry and business community. This means we can offer an interesting and future-oriented education to our students and also be an important player in meeting the industry's need for labor.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher in upper secondary school, it includes being a mentor for a smaller group of students, which involves responsibility for following and supporting the students' social and academic development. The position includes natural collaboration with teachers, other school staff, and external contacts.
