The people you meet are of different ages and have various care needs. The need exists throughout the Eskilstuna municipality. This means that we work both in the city and in the countryside. We work during the day, evening, weekends, and nights.

You will be employed at one of our workplaces and receive a schedule of 75% or more, for at least four summer weeks. We will prioritize those who can work on a schedule, but for those who cannot work during a full scheduled period, there may be opportunities to work hourly during the summer.

Personal Assistance

Here you support a person with disabilities to live the life they wish. This can involve everything from care to leisure activities. It depends on the needs, opportunities, and habits of the person. Often you work alone and do 24-hour shifts.

Social Psychiatry (few spots left)

Here you work to support and motivate people with mental disabilities. This may mean that they have anxiety, depression, and/or substance abuse issues. You can work in a residence, within the night patrol, or at the home of clients as support.

LSS (few spots left)

Here you work in one or more residences where you support adults with disabilities. Their needs and desires are in focus, and you work in their home environment.

LSS Children/Personal Assistance for Children

Here you support children and adolescents with disabilities either at home as a personal assistant, at leisure, or in a residence, so they have a fun, safe, and developing everyday life.

Care and Support Housing

Here, individuals live in an apartment or room where they can receive service and care around the clock. You work to provide care and support to those living here. There are different types of housing such as elderly care, dementia care, and short-term care. There is solitary work involved.

Home Care

Here you provide support, personal care, and service in clients' homes so they can stay at home. You work within one of our areas where you cycle or drive. Home care also includes the service group and night patrol.

New this year is that you will receive 2.5 days of training, so you feel secure before the summer job starts. This includes method exercises with the support of healthcare teachers, specialist nursing assistants, and support pedagogues. An exciting aspect is that you will practice how to meet clients in various situations using VR glasses.

QUALIFICATIONS

To work with us, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Speak and write good Swedish, as it is important that you understand our clients and the workplace routines.
• Have good experience with digital tools since a lot of documentation is involved.

For some workplaces, you need to:

• Be a trained nursing assistant.
• Have a B driver's license and a personal car to get to the workplace.
• Be able to cycle (applies to work within home care).
• Speak Finnish.

It is an advantage if you have experience in care work or have worked with individuals who have physical or mental disabilities.

Creating contact with people comes naturally to you, and you enjoy talking with the clients you meet. With patience and attentiveness, you listen to understand their feelings and needs. Initiative, keeping your promises, and good collaboration are also important qualities in you.

At the care and support administration, about 3000 employees work together to ensure that the elderly and people with disabilities in Eskilstuna receive the care and support they need. The administration is divided into a staff unit and five operational areas: elderly care, disability services, health and medical care, assistance, and staffing. We are nearly 70 different professions making a difference in other people's lives every working day.
