Communicator at the Army Combat School

The role of the Army Combat School (MSS) is to create conditions for ground combat units to solve their assigned tasks in the best possible way, both nationally and internationally, in collaboration with other parts of the army. MSS also handles tasks for the entire Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, firearms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the Army Combat School trains the future leaders of the Armed Forces using advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.

The Position Offers

As a communicator, you are part of the Army Combat School's staff, which leads and directs the work within the school. You contribute your skills, experience, and commitment at all our workplaces. The Army Combat School leads and coordinates extensive operations both nationally and internationally. We are now looking for a communicator who, under the direction of the communications manager, will help the Army Combat School achieve its set communication goals based on established plans. The staff currently consists of about 20 employees distributed across 7 departments.

Main Responsibilities

The position involves communicating the Army Combat School's activities both internally and externally under the direction of the communications manager. Your work as a communicator includes a significant amount of collaboration within your own unit, within the Army, and within the Armed Forces.

Examples of Tasks

  • Produce text, images, videos, and informational materials based on established goals, plans, and strategies
  • Participate in planning and coordinating communication services for the exercises that the Army Combat School is responsible for
  • Develop the Army Combat School's communication channels such as intranet, website, and social media
  • Support the unit leadership and garrison in internal and external communication
  • Act as a media contact and support Army Combat School employees in their media interactions
  • Support the Armed Forces Headquarters and Army Headquarters communication departments in internal and external communication
  • Collaborate with the Armed Forces' advertising and production agencies

REQUIREMENTS Qualifications

  • University education in communication and/or media, or other relevant education/work experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Very good knowledge of image and video production, including editing images, videos, and layout in e.g. Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign
  • Very good experience in administering, managing, and creating engagement in social media
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Driving license B (Manual transmission)

PREFERABLE

  • Experience in strategic and operational communication work
  • Familiarity with the operations of the Armed Forces
  • Good general knowledge and interest in societal issues

As a person, you have good judgment, high integrity, and decisiveness. You are self-driven, proactive, structured, and results-oriented. You excel at both creating and maintaining good relationships, putting the team before yourself, being unpretentious, and helpful. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment form: Permanent employment with a possible six-month probationary period

Employment rate: Full-time

Work location: Skövde

Start date: As soon as possible according to agreement

Travel within Sweden may occur. MSS operations are geographically divided between Skövde and Kvarn (Östergötland).
