Job Responsibilities

We at Derome Skog are looking for a temporary timber buyer or a person with equivalent forestry competence who wants to strengthen our team in Svenljunga/Ulricehamn during a parental leave, with the possibility of extension.

We work with people, transform forests into timber, build homes, and realize dreams. As a timber buyer, relationships are an important part of the job. Many of our landowners have forests that have been passed down through generations, and our role is to help them manage their forests in the best way.

As a timber buyer, you are responsible for the entire process, from purchasing standing timber and delivery timber to production management of logging operations. You provide forestry advice and drive business development to create long-term partnerships. Your daily routine is characterized by contact with your landowners, contractors, transporters, and authorities, and you have significant responsibility where the phone and computer are your most important tools.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of timber buyer, we believe that:

• You are a relationship builder who creates new contacts and nurtures the ones you have.
• You are business-driven, motivating yourself to do your best for each customer according to their needs.
• You have a forestry education or equivalent experience and a strong interest in forestry.
• Having several years of experience in timber purchasing is an advantage.

As a person, you are a service-oriented team player with the ability to handle both details and strategic issues. You will be an important part of our purchasing team, which works together for sustainable and profitable forestry.
