Your Future Employer

The Swedish Forest Agency is looking for you who want to work as a forest consultant with a primary focus on supervision, which includes logging notifications, applications, and consultations.

We are now seeking 1-2 consultants for the Skaraborg-Fyrbodal district as part of strengthening our work with supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. You will have extensive contact with landowners and employees within forestry, as well as with other stakeholders related to the forest. As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks and ongoing professional development. You will be part of a workgroup with other experienced supervisory officers. You will work in a larger geography, as we are a national authority.

About the Skaraborg-Fyrbodal District

The district has its operational area within parts of Västra Götaland County. The district has 21 employees stationed at the district offices located in Skövde and Uddevalla. The district's tasks cover a range of different authority responsibilities, such as legal supervision, protection and management of areas with high natural values, inventories, and advisory services. The district also works on behalf of external clients, including training.

Job Responsibilities

You will work with processing logging notifications, applications, consultations, and supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. The tasks are primarily performed in the office, but fieldwork may occur. The work involves contacts with forest owners, other active participants in forestry, and relevant authorities and organizations. As an employee of the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations.

Depending on your skills, focus, and the needs of the organization, other work may also become relevant. Examples of this may include participating in advisory activities, inventories, various projects, or our commissioned work. The work is conducted over a larger geography than the home district, so longer travels may occasionally be necessary.

Qualifications

You have a scientific university degree or another relevant education with associated experience within our field of work. Relevant work experience is an advantage. We prefer that you have experience in forest production, issues related to forest conservation, and knowledge of forest-dwelling species. Experience in government authority operations and administrative law is advantageous, as well as knowledge of the Environmental Code and the Forestry Act. We value good IT/GIS skills.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You are thoughtful and analytical and have the ability to weigh complex information together, and you take responsibility for ensuring that your cases are handled in a legally secure and communicative manner. The ongoing legal development within the Swedish Forest Agency's supervisory work may lead to changes in the content of the tasks, which requires high flexibility. You are communicative, pedagogical, and can engage in a trustworthy dialogue, for example, related to authority decisions with landowners, various actors, and stakeholders within the forestry sector.

You have a value base and integrity that allows you to identify with the requirements that the role of a civil servant entails. You should meet and engage in dialogue with people in various situations in a trustworthy and respectful manner.

A B driver's license is a requirement.

Conditions

We offer 1-2 permanent positions at 100% starting with a 6-month probationary period. Start date is as soon as possible or by agreement.

We apply individual salary setting, remote work agreements, and trust-based working hours. There is an opportunity to work from home to some extent.

Stationing will be at one of our offices in Skövde or Uddevalla.

Welcome with your application no later than April 21!
