We are currently seeking a registered nurse for a permanent position at Ward 130/PIVA, Psychiatry Northwest at Danderyd Hospital. At Ward 130/PIVA, we provide acute psychiatric care for patients aged 18 and older. We have 16 beds, six of which are designated for psychiatric intensive care and the remaining ten for psychosis care.

Responsibilities

The field of psychiatric inpatient care is exciting, broad, and varied. As a nurse, you are expected to lead the nursing work around our patients, which involves planning and executing nursing interventions. You will participate in rounds with doctors and other staff, as well as perform standard nursing tasks such as venipuncture, medication management, and documentation. We use Take Care as our documentation system. Your responsibilities will also include support conversations with patients and coordination with other healthcare providers, municipalities, and relatives.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a strong interest in psychiatry. Previous experience in psychiatric care and/or specialized training in psychiatry is considered an advantage, but is not a requirement. We see that you as an applicant are flexible in how you prioritize, plan, and perform your tasks and that you can quickly adapt to changing circumstances. You are confident in your leadership role and delegate tasks in a clear and fair manner. Since we often work as a team in a fast-paced environment, it is essential that you can collaborate and communicate with your colleagues, even in stressful situations. We often care for severely ill patients, so it is important that you as a nurse are calm, secure, and attentive to the patient's needs. You enjoy working closely with patients in their care and can work independently while also appreciating working together with other professional categories to provide the best possible care for the patient. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Conditions

Day shifts, weekdays - there is an opportunity to work one weekend out of five if interested. The working hours are 40 hours per week. A probationary period of six months may be applied.

Psychiatry Northwest is a university clinic in the northwestern part of the Stockholm County healthcare area (SLSO) with about 550 employees. Our mission is to provide specialist-level psychiatric care in outpatient and inpatient settings to all individuals aged 18 and older registered in Stockholm County. For patient-related work within the Stockholm County healthcare area:

• background checks will be conducted before hiring according to applicable guidelines.
• employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment medical examination, according to applicable directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
• in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
