About Central Child Health Care and Dart

Central Child Health Care in Västra Götaland is a regional operation.

We belong to the regional area of Health and Specialist Care for Children and Young People within Region Health. Our team includes speech therapists, child health care specialists, dietitians, psychologists, administrators, and business developers with backgrounds as pediatric nurses or district nurses.

Our mission is to strengthen and develop child health care in the region through health-promoting, preventive, and family-centered work. We follow up and develop child health care interventions, disseminate research, and drive method development. Additionally, we serve as a referral body for care programs, care chains, and guidelines regarding the health of young children. Success requires dialogue and collaboration at multiple levels.

Dart is a specialist operation within communication support and AAC (alternative and augmentative communication). Our goal is to provide children and adults with better opportunities to express themselves and be understood. Through research, method development, and education, we develop evidence-based tools and support programs for parents, relatives, and professionals. We work towards more accessible and equitable communication for all.

The work of child health care rests on two foundational pillars: the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the principle of proportional universalism – offering basic support to all and more support to those who need it.

About the Assignment

This is a temporary assignment where you will play a key role in developing digital resources to strengthen young children's speech, language, and communication. You will also work towards a cohesive regional parenting support in VGR.

An important part of the assignment is to develop and implement the support program KomIgång online in collaboration with parents and staff within child health care. What support do parents and staff need to get started? This is the central question you will explore and translate into practical action.

Your work will include:

• Development of information and training about KomIgång online
• Introduction of the program in various formats – in groups, individually, digitally
• Collaboration with speech therapists, child health care nurses, family centers, and other actors
• Participation in the development, training, and implementation of other early interventions for parents

The assignment is part of an initiative to strengthen parenting support in VGR. You will have many collaboration points and work together with colleagues from Central Child Health Care, Dart, Parenting Psychology Clinics for parents and young children, Development Center for Children's Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Medicine, Child Mission, and the corporate staff for digitalization.

Your work will take place throughout Västra Götaland. You can work digitally, but the position also involves travel to various locations for meetings, workshops, and training. Your workplace can be in Borås, Gothenburg, Skövde, or Vänersborg.

About You

We are looking for a licensed speech therapist with experience working with children aged 0–5 years. You are accustomed to collaborating with parents and child health care and have a strong interest in digitalization and how it can be used to develop care.

You thrive in change management and have previously worked with method and business development. Educating and mentoring adults is a natural part of your work, and you have excellent pedagogical skills. AKKtiv training and experience leading parent groups are advantageous.

To succeed in this role, you need to have:

• Excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing
• Ability to engage, motivate, and involve others in change processes
• Initiative and independence, while seeing collaboration as a key element in development work
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaboration points simultaneously

Central Child Health Care, Dart, and Child Mission work together to develop new methods and approaches for children's speech, language, and communication. We are looking for someone passionate about this work and who wants to make a difference at the regional level.

The position is a temporary employment with immediate start, until 2025-12-31. Possible extension.
