Responsibilities

We are looking for a Specialist in road design for the Norrbotniabanan project - one of Sweden's largest and most complex infrastructure investments. In this role, you will contribute your expertise in road design to both existing and new road projects affected by the railway construction.

As a specialist, you will be a key person in the project. You will be an important link between project management, technical specialists, and consultants. Your ability to communicate technical issues clearly and pedagogically will be crucial to drive the project forward and create consensus.

The work primarily takes place in the design phase, where you will combine strategic thinking with technical details. The role involves significant variation and requires both a holistic perspective and the ability to identify details that affect the project's implementation.

Examples of responsibilities:

• support project management and design management in technical issues related to road design.
• act as an advisor and technical sounding board in discussions with both internal and external parties.
• participate in design meetings, technical meetings, and consultation meetings with municipalities, consultants, and the public.
• ensure compliance with requirements for road sections, alignment, and road equipment to achieve good traffic safety.
• review, check, and follow up documents to ensure quality and traceability.
• maintain continuous dialogue with consultants and contractors to create the right conditions for successful deliveries.
• contribute to the development of regulations and standardization in road design.

Qualifications

As a person, you are analytical and have the ability to maintain a holistic view based on technology, design, and economics. Furthermore, you are outgoing and have an easy time creating and maintaining good relationships. In the role of road designer, you will be in contact with several different parties, both internal and external. Therefore, it is also important that you have good communication skills and can collaborate. To ensure a stable foundation, good documentation and traceability are required, so you need to be both meticulous and structured. We also believe that you will succeed better if you are curious about what is happening in your surroundings and within your technical field.

We are looking for someone who has

• a master's degree in civil engineering in road and water or civil engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• several years of experience in road design from infrastructure projects and good knowledge of road design.
• good knowledge of regulations in road design, such as VGU.
• experience in the planning process and have participated in the development of road plans and/or railway plans.
• good communication skills and can explain complex technical issues to different target groups.
• a valid driver's license as travel within a large geographical area is part of the job.
• good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience in road construction projects within contracting.
• knowledge of design in the industry's common software, such as Novapoint or Civil 3D.
• experience with BIM.
• experience from work in railway projects - especially in the interface between road and railway.
• good proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
