Sports Facility Worker Wanted at Gammlia Sports Center

The Leisure Administration within Umeå Municipality aims to contribute to a good living environment by creating opportunities for an active leisure time with sports, exercise, recreation, and public health. The responsibilities of the department include the operation and management of sports and leisure facilities, recreational areas, facilities for leisure boats, as well as initiatives in recreational fishing and outdoor activities. The Leisure Administration is responsible for the overall preparation, follow-up, and evaluation of the municipality's support to the association life through the municipality's common Association Bureau, ensuring strengthened contacts between various municipal representatives and organized associations.

The Operations Department manages our staffed sports centers: Nolia Sports Center, Gammlia Sports Center, and Tegs Sports Center. Staffing is also available in Holmsund and Hörnefors. Other facilities are managed by a mobile team based in Västerslätt.

We are now looking for a sports facility worker who can work full-time at Gammlia Sports Center/Umeå Energi Arena!

Your Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities include the operation and maintenance (which can involve everything from cleaning to artificial grass maintenance, snow removal, rounds of school sports halls, or supervision of school premises) of sports facilities/sports halls and other tasks related to sports, based at Gammlia Sports Center. Here, we manage the elite facility UEA Sol/Vind/Vatten as well as all school sports halls and special sports facilities in the municipality. Other tasks within Umeå Leisure Operations may also occur.

About You

We are looking for someone with a high school education and previous work experience in a service role. We consider it a positive aspect in this recruitment process if you also have experience working within the sports movement.

This position involves heavy lifting, so good physical health is an important prerequisite to manage certain heavy tasks. Initiative and good teamwork skills are essential. Flexibility and the ability to work independently are other important qualities. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A valid driver's license (B) is required; if you also have training in personnel lifting and a forklift license, it is an advantage.
