Summer Intern for our Planning Department

We are now looking for a summer intern for our planning department. Do you have an interest in logistics and want the opportunity to work with production planning and learn to create efficient lead times? Then this could be the summer job for you!

Responsibilities

GPI is a growing packaging company with a forward-thinking attitude and short decision-making paths. With us, you have the opportunity to learn alongside engaged and competent colleagues. You will work with production planning within a specific planning section. An important part of the job is to combine a high level of service to customers with high productivity in production. In this role, you will primarily work with:

  • Scheduling orders and reservations with regard to capacity and raw materials
  • Setting delivery times for new orders and reservations within the planning section
  • Through optimization of order sizes, scheduling decisions, etc. within the planning area, work to minimize capital binding and obsolescence risk while maximizing productivity and customer service.
  • Rough and fine planning of schedules within the planning section
  • Potentially purchasing and making material calls to suppliers
  • Collaborating with production staff and the workshop to minimize downtime and waste.

The position is a full-time summer internship in Halmstad from week 25 to week 33.

Your Profile

We believe that you who apply have a high school education, further education or equivalent experience in planning or logistics, and preferably have an interest in production economics. You also have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as well as skills in the Office package, especially Excel. As a person, you are engaged, positive, and have an easy time following established routines and processes. As a temporary planner, you have many contact points with a customer focus both internally and externally, which requires good communication and collaboration skills. Being able to take initiative and seek constructive solutions are qualities we appreciate in the role. If you are also meticulous and ambitious, do not hesitate to apply.
