JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At Vättnedal School F-6, students develop curiosity and a desire to learn. We have a diversity of students and teachers from all corners of the world. Language development and culture in various forms are an integral part of our school work.

We are now looking for a school nurse to join our student health team. The school is part of the South-West 20 school area, which consists of the following five schools:

• Deaf and Hearing F-9, Kannebäck
• Adapted Primary School 1-9, Kannebäck
• Resource School 1-9, Kannebäck
• Ängåsskolan F-6
• Vättnedal School F-6

About 300 employees work in South-West 20. The management group consists of one principal and seven assistant principals.

The student health team consists of employees from all professions in student health: psychologist, counselor, speech therapist, school nurse, special educator, and school doctor. Our mission is to promote and support students' learning, health, and development in collaboration with guardians and staff. It is the responsibility of the principal and assistant principals to lead and direct the work of student health, where you, together with the other professionals in student health, support the management in ensuring that each student achieves set goals.

You will work preventively and health-promoting based on the governing documents in the health and medical care law, the school law, guidance for student health, and the City of Gothenburg's methodological support for the medical interventions of student health. This includes health visits, health talks, vaccinations, issues related to students' working environment, the school's core values, and lifestyle-related health issues. You will also have group activities as needed, as well as your own open reception and reception together with the school doctor.

You will be part of a professional network for the other school nurses in the educational area with regular meetings for quality development and support in the work, led by the medically responsible leader, MLA. School nurses in the network are also offered supervision and job-specific professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal Qualifications:

We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialist training as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or school nurse with a strong interest in working with children and adolescents. It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a school nurse or have experience in health-promoting work with children and adolescents. Good computer skills are required as you will be working in various IT systems. All documentation for school nurses and school doctors, as well as student health, is done in our digital journal system, PMO.

You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You base your work on everyone's equal value and create a good atmosphere in meetings. You have the ability to share information and ideas, both verbally and in writing, and adjust your communication according to the recipient and target group.

You take your tasks seriously, are keen to complete what you have started, and ensure that the work is done correctly.

You have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. As you will be active in health-promoting work, you are good at communicating, motivating, and inspiring.
