With our mission statement "Broadening horizons and sparking engagement", we aim to empower people to influence their situation and society. Music, dance, film, and theater are vital parts of society and its development, both as professional art forms and as opportunities for individual expression. Audiences and residents of all ages should be offered high quality and exciting encounters between, and within our various art forms at different venues.

The operations of Scenkonst Sörmland are mainly funded by Region Sörmland and the State through the Swedish Arts Council. We continuously work to develop our methods and offerings in close collaboration with the municipalities in the region to remain relevant and provide new perspectives on contemporary issues and history. Scenkonst Sörmland is part of Culture & Education within Region Sörmland. The organization is working to meet future developments and is therefore currently recruiting for several positions.

Your tasks

As a sound technician at Scenkonst Sörmland, your primary goal is to ensure the quality of the sound technical delivery in our productions and projects. You have the competence for all sound technical planning and work as a sound technician in selected productions and projects. You optimize technical solutions to meet artistic needs. You manage and maintain existing sound equipment. You actively participate in all work related to the technical delivery, whether it takes place in our performance spaces, our storage, or outside the building. You take on the role of stage master at designated events in Scenkonst Sörmland's performance spaces. In selected productions, you act as tour leader with reporting responsibility to the producer. The work is planned together with the technical coordinator and a technical team with 2 additional technicians. At Scenkonst Sörmland, you will work with a large and updated technical park in well-adapted performance spaces and newly established storage facilities. Thanks to the breadth of Scenkonst Sörmland's operations, our workplace is also an excellent platform for you who want to further develop your knowledge and skills in the technical field.

Your competence

You have:

• Sound technician education or equivalent work experience of at least 2 years.
• Knowledge and understanding of the production processes of performing arts.
• Documented knowledge of sound technical work in the performing arts field.
• The ability and experience to quickly switch between tasks and roles.
• The ability to work persistently in a varied and sometimes fast-paced work environment.
• The ability to function both in a responsible position and as part of a team.
• Good competence and experience in safety work in theory and practice.
• Good prioritization skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Good competence in the Office suite.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Good planning skills.
• Driver's license, at least category B.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Experience working with Allen&Heath mixing consoles.
• Experience working in Qlab.
• Experience working in Dante.
• Experience and knowledge from another technical theater area beyond sound technology.
• Experience in touring operations.
• Forklift license.

Employment form

Permanent employment with start date by agreement. A probationary period may apply.
