About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our BI/AI team. You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining modern data management solutions using the Microsoft Fabric platform. Your expertise will transform data into insights and enable data-driven decisions across the organization.

We have been working with traditional data analysis and Business Intelligence for over 15 years, but now we are in an exciting transformation. We are moving our on-prem data warehouse to Microsoft Fabric, which opens up opportunities for real-time data management, better performance, and more efficient analysis flows. Here, you will be a central part of the change process!

What You Will Do

• Design and architecture – Build robust and scalable solutions for data storage and analysis.
• ETL and data modeling – Create and optimize pipelines with Dataflows, Notebooks, and semantic models in Microsoft Fabric.
• Data integration and analysis – Work with SQL, DAX, and Python to structure, transform, and analyze data.
• Cloud migration – Participate in the migration from on-prem SQL Server to Microsoft Fabric.
• Collaboration & business understanding – Work closely with data analysts and the business to create insightful BI solutions.
• Data governance and security – Ensure that data is managed correctly according to applicable regulations and best practices.

Is This You?

We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, analytical, and driven to create effective and modern data architectures. To succeed in this role, we prefer that you have:

Requirements:

• Education in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field at university, vocational school, or equivalent, or relevant professional experience and supplementary courses deemed equivalent by Fagerhult.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong skills in SQL for ETL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Jeeves or Dynamics 365.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric or Azure.
• Familiarity with data warehouse structures and BI solutions (Power BI, Excel, SSAS).
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English.

Desirable:

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and its components (Dataflows, Notebooks, Semantic models).
• Certification: Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (Exam DP-600).
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies, preferably Spark.
• Understanding of data governance and information security.
• Experience with agile development and project management.

Practical Information

• Location: Fagerhult, Sweden. (Alternatively Gothenburg or Stockholm)
• Being present in the office facilitates learning, strengthens relationships with colleagues, and makes it easier to get into the role.
