The position is located within the preparedness and security unit at the regional office, which is part of the administration, legal, and security department. The unit works with cross-regional strategic issues and provides support to the politicians, the regional director, and the region's administrations and companies. The preparedness and security unit consists of three employees and a unit manager who work together with the unit's mission.

The regional office is the regional director's staff and works with overarching strategic issues, coordination, and follow-up in areas such as finance, HR, communication, sustainable development, administration, law, and security, healthcare, and digitalization. The regional office also supports the political organization and contributes expertise to both elected representatives and the operations of Region Örebro County.

Preparedness and Security Strategist at the Regional Office

Responsibilities

The work is primarily conducted at a cross-regional level, where you as an employee are offered significant responsibility to drive and develop your area of responsibility. We have an important and prioritized mission within Region Örebro County. The focus of the unit's mission is to drive the cross-regional work with civil preparedness, public safety, and systematic fire protection.

You will work on developing cross-regional processes and routines that ensure political will and appropriate working methods in the area, and you will lead various working groups in assignment and project form. An important part of the mission is to participate in and drive collaboration with both internal and external parties and represent Region Örebro County in external collaboration assignments.

Qualifications

Your formal qualifications come from an academic education in areas such as law, social and political science, social work, or urban planning. You may also have other education combined with work experience that the employer deems relevant. We expect you to have investigative skills and experience in leading various working groups.

To succeed in your role as a preparedness and security strategist, you need to be development-oriented, take personal responsibility, and have the ability to drive issues forward both independently and in collaboration with others. You have experience leading working groups in various assignments and projects, and you possess the ability to deliver results of good quality within specified time frames. Since you collaborate with many actors, both internally and externally, it is important that you are receptive, communicative, and have good collaboration skills. You have the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You need to feel comfortable representing Region Örebro County and giving oral presentations in both small and large contexts. It is important that you thrive in an environment where your more long-term and strategic work is combined with quick orders with short delivery times, and you are expected to have the ability to switch between different perspectives. Given the expansive phase that this area is currently undergoing, the content of the position may change over time, taking into account the wishes of politics, the intentions of the legislator, and the current state of the world. We place great emphasis on personal suitability in combination with educational background.

Meritorious:

It is meritorious if you also have other relevant education or experience in civil preparedness, security/fire protection, signals protection, or other education or experience suitable for the position, as well as previous experience working with overarching and strategic issues in these areas. It is also considered meritorious if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. Particularly meritorious is if you have previously worked with security and fire protection in a politically governed organization.
