Custodian at the Cultural Administration

The Cultural Administration has approximately 800 employees who mainly operate within libraries, cultural centers, museums, and other cultural activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you technically skilled and passionate about helping people? Then you could be our new custodian!

The internal service unit within the Cultural Administration's department for libraries and cultural centers is now looking for a custodian who wants to serve our 25 libraries and cultural centers throughout the city of Gothenburg. You will be based at Gothenburg City Library and become part of a team consisting of eight custodians/technicians, three cleaners, and one cleaning coordinator.

Together with your colleagues, you will work on receiving and addressing maintenance requests from the administration's libraries and cultural centers. You will drive our service vehicle to various units to assist with everything from simple assembly to more complex property maintenance or repairs. You will also be in contact with property owners and forward maintenance requests as needed. In your daily work, you will also handle book transports to the administration's libraries, manage mail handling and key orders, and assist with technical support during program activities.

You will be part of a creative and dynamic environment where you will meet many different people and units in need of your help. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and use your creativity in combination with your handy and solution-oriented side.

This position is a permanent employment at 100%, and the work is scheduled for day and evening shifts as well as weekends, according to a roster.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have previous experience working as a custodian. You have a B driver's license and driving experience and are confident in your role as a driver of a transport vehicle in an urban environment. You have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, and good computer skills. Previous experience in property maintenance and conference technology is a plus.

You enjoy meeting people and have a good sense of service and customer interaction. You are comfortable in social settings, both informal and formal, and can communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Balancing different demands and maintaining calm in challenging situations is something you see as natural. You thrive in physical work and, to some extent, with heavy lifting in varying work environments where you can use your handy and solution-oriented side.

You take your tasks seriously, are committed to completing what you start, and ensure that the work is done correctly. You enjoy working in a team but also have a good ability to work independently.
