PTP Psychologist for DBT Team

We are currently seeking a PTP psychologist interested in working with adolescents undergoing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

The DBT team is part of the intensive outpatient section within BUP in Stockholm. We offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for youth aged 13-17 and their families, where the youth has issues including recurrent self-harming behavior, suicide attempts, and/or emotional instability. The unit's mission also includes outreach work and internal method development as well as collaborative efforts within the section.

The DBT team consists of 28 employees with various professions; psychologist, physician, social worker, nurse, therapist, and administrator. The services include both individual treatment, skills training in groups for adolescents and parents/significant others, as well as family conversations, parent conversations, and telephone support. The services also involve outreach work such as consultations, lectures, and collaboration with neighboring care providers. We provide ongoing training for employees in the method and in issues related to our target group. Regular external supervision is also included in consultation team meetings. The staff group is highly experienced in DBT, has a strong commitment to developing our services, and it is therefore easy to receive collegial supervision as a complement to personal supervision. Our reception is located at Krukmakargatan 37 (near Zinkensdamm).

The DBT team, together with Unit 2 at BUP Inpatient Care, is also part of the National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) for individuals with severe self-harming behavior who require inpatient care. Our facilities also host a research project, SAFETY, for adolescents who have recently attempted suicide.

Job Description

As a PTP psychologist on the DBT team, you will conduct treatment work both individually and in family and skills training groups according to DBT. The work is done in close collaboration with colleagues in one of our four consultation teams and also in cooperation with other units within BUP, particularly within the intensive outpatient section and NHV. You will also participate in outreach work and, if interested, in method development.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a psychology degree, obtained no later than June 2025, and be approved for practice in Sweden, with a focus on CBT. Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry with a particular interest in DBT is meritorious.

Personal Attributes

You are responsible, have good collaboration skills, and are structured. You express yourself well in writing, contribute to a positive atmosphere, and are flexible in a growing and changing environment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment Type

The position is a fixed-term employment for 12 months, full-time.
